As part of our science topic on Rocks and Soils, Year 3 children followed in the footsteps of Mary Anning by fossil hunting on Charmouth beach.

The Rangers talked about the formation of the sedimentary rock which could be seen in the cliffs.

The children then had a tour of the Heritage Centre where many examples of fossils could be seen.

They found lots of belemnites and ammonites to take home.
